Surah Al-Fatiha (The Opening) سُورَة الفاتحة

Surah Al-Fatiha is the 1st chapter of the Qur'an, revealed in Makkah. It consists of 7 verses and is considered the most important Surah, recited in every unit of prayer.

Translation: Surah Al-Fatiha (The Opening) سُورَة الفاتحة

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ١ i

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. (1)

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ٢ i

[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds - (2)

الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ٣ i

The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, (3)

مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ٤ i

Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. (4)

إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ٥ i

It is You we worship and You we ask for help. (5)

اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ٦ i

Guide us to the straight path - (6)

صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ ٧ i

The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray. (7)
