Surah Al-Adiyat (The Charging Horses) سُورَة العاديات

Surah Al-Adiyat is the 100th chapter of the Qur’an and was revealed in Medina. It consists of 11 verses and uses the metaphor of charging horses to symbolize human zeal and pursuit of goals, while emphasizing the importance of human actions and Allah’s judgment.

Surah Al-'Adiyat (The Courser) — سُورَةُ العاديات

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۞

i

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ ٦ i

100:6

Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful. (6)

وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ ٨ i

100:8

And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense. (8)

أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ ٩ i

100:9

But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered (9)

إِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَخَبِيرٌ ١١ i

100:11

Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted. (11)
