Surah Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful) سُورَة الرحمن

Surah Ar-Rahman is the 55th chapter of the Quran, consisting of 78 verses. It is a beautiful reminder of Allah's countless blessings and His mercy. Below are the verses of this Surah.

Translation: Surah Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful) سُورَة الرحمن

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

i

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

الرَّحْمَٰنُ ١ i

The Most Merciful (1)

عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ٢ i

Taught the Qur'an, (2)

خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ ٣ i

Created man, (3)

عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ ٤ i

[And] taught him eloquence. (4)

الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ ٥ i

The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, (5)

وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ ٦ i

And the stars and trees prostrate. (6)

وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ ٧ i

And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance (7)

أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ ٨ i

That you not transgress within the balance. (8)

وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ ٩ i

And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. (9)

وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ ١٠ i

And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. (10)

فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ ١١ i

Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] (11)

وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ ١٢ i

And grain having husks and scented plants. (12)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ١٣ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (13)

خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ ١٤ i

He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. (14)

وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ ١٥ i

And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. (15)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ١٦ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (16)

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ ١٧ i

[He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. (17)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ١٨ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (18)

مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ ١٩ i

He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; (19)

بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَا يَبْغِيَانِ ٢٠ i

Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. (20)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٢١ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (21)

يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ٢٢ i

From both of them emerge pearl and coral. (22)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٢٣ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (23)

وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنْشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ ٢٤ i

And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. (24)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٢٥ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (25)

كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ ٢٦ i

Everyone upon the earth will perish, (26)

وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ ٢٧ i

And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. (27)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٢٨ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (28)

يَسْأَلُهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ ٢٩ i

Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is bringing about a matter. (29)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٠ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (30)

سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ ٣١ i

We will attend to you, O prominent beings. (31)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٢ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (32)

يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا ۚ لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ ٣٣ i

O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah]. (33)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٤ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (34)

يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِ ٣٥ i

There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves. (35)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٦ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (36)

فَإِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ ٣٧ i

And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil - (37)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٨ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - (38)

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنْسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ ٣٩ i

Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn. (39)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٠ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (40)

يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ ٤١ i

The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet. (41)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٢ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (42)

هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ ٤٣ i

This is Hell, which the criminals deny. (43)

يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ ٤٤ i

They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree]. (44)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٥ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (45)

وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ ٤٦ i

But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens - (46)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٧ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - (47)

ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ ٤٨ i

Having [spreading] branches. (48)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٩ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (49)

فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ ٥٠ i

In both of them are two springs, flowing. (50)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥١ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (51)

فِيهِمَا مِنْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ ٥٢ i

In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds. (52)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥٣ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (53)

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ ٥٤ i

[They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low. (54)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥٥ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (55)

فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ ٥٦ i

In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni - (56)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥٧ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - (57)

كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ٥٨ i

As if they were rubies and coral. (58)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥٩ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (59)

هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ ٦٠ i

Is the reward for good [anything] but good? (60)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦١ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (61)

وَمِنْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ ٦٢ i

And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens - (62)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٣ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - (63)

مُدْهَامَّتَانِ ٦٤ i

Dark green [in color]. (64)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٥ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (65)

فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ ٦٦ i

In both of them are two springs, spouting. (66)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٧ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (67)

فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ ٦٨ i

In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates. (68)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٩ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (69)

فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ٧٠ i

In them are good and beautiful women - (70)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧١ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - (71)

حُورٌ مَقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ ٧٢ i

Fair ones reserved in pavilions - (72)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٣ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - (73)

لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ ٧٤ i

Untouched before them by man or jinni - (74)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٥ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - (75)

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ ٧٦ i

Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets. (76)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٧ i

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (77)

تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ ٧٨ i

Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. (78)
