Surah Ash-Sharh (The Relief) — سُورَةُ الشرح

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ i

94:1

Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast? ⁽¹⁾

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ i

94:2

And We removed from you your burden ⁽²⁾

الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ i

94:3

Which had weighed upon your back ⁽³⁾

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ i

94:4

And raised high for you your repute. ⁽⁴⁾

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا i

94:5

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. ⁽⁵⁾

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا i

94:6

Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. ⁽⁶⁾

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ i

94:7

So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]. ⁽⁷⁾

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ i

94:8

And to your Lord direct [your] longing. ⁽⁸⁾
