Surah Al-Qiyama (The Resurrection) سُورَة القيامة

Surah Al-Qiyama is the 75th chapter of the Quran, consisting of 40 verses. It discusses the events of the Day of Resurrection, the consequences of disbelief, and the certainty of the resurrection. Below are the verses of this Surah.

Surah Al-Qiyamah (The Resurrection) — سُورَةُ القيامة

Also known as: Lā Uqsimu (I Do Not Swear), Lā Uqsimu bi-Yawm al-Qiyāmah (I Do Not Swear by the Day of Resurrection)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۞

i

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ ٢ i

75:2

And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. (2)

أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَلَّنْ نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ ٣ i

75:3

Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? (3)

بَلَىٰ قَادِرِينَ عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ ٤ i

75:4

Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. (4)

بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنْسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ ٥ i

75:5

But man desires to continue in sin. (5)

يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ ٦ i

75:6

He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" (6)

يَقُولُ الْإِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ ١٠ i

75:10

Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" (10)

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ ١٢ i

75:12

To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. (12)

يُنَبَّأُ الْإِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ ١٣ i

75:13

Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. (13)

بَلِ الْإِنْسَانُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ ١٤ i

75:14

Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, (14)

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ ١٦ i

75:16

Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. (16)

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ ١٧ i

75:17

Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. (17)

فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ ١٨ i

75:18

So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. (18)

تَظُنُّ أَنْ يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ ٢٥ i

75:25

Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. (25)

كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِيَ ٢٦ i

75:26

No! When the soul has reached the collar bones (26)

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ ٢٨ i

75:28

And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation (28)

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ ٣٠ i

75:30

To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. (30)

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّىٰ ٣٣ i

75:33

And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride]. (33)

أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَنْ يُتْرَكَ سُدًى ٣٦ i

75:36

Does man think that he will be left neglected? (36)

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِنْ مَنِيٍّ يُمْنَىٰ ٣٧ i

75:37

Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted? (37)

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ٣٨ i

75:38

Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him] (38)

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَىٰ ٣٩ i

75:39

And made of him two mates, the male and the female. (39)

أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَىٰ ٤٠ i

75:40

Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead? (40)
