Surah At-Takathur (The Rivalry in World Increase) سُورَة التكاثر

Surah At-Takathur is the 102nd chapter of the Quran, consisting of 8 verses. It warns against the rivalry for worldly possessions, reminding people of the inevitable reality of death and the Day of Judgment. Below are the verses of this Surah.

Surah At-Takathur (Rivalry in World Increase) — سُورَةُ التكاثر

Also known as: Alhākumu al-Takāthur (Rivalry in Increase Diverts You), al-Maqbarah (The Graveyard)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۞

i

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ ١ i

102:1

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), (1)

كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ ٥ i

102:5

Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) (5)

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ ٧ i

102:7

Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! (7)

ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ ٨ i

102:8

Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). (8)
