Surah Al-A'la (The Most High) سُورَة الأعلى

Surah Al-A'la (The Most High) — سُورَةُ الأعلى

Also known as: Sabbiḥ Isma Rabbika al-Aʿlā (Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High), Sabbiḥ (Glorify)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۞

i

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسَىٰ ٦ i

87:6

By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget, (6)

إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ ٧ i

87:7

Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden. (7)

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ ٨ i

87:8

And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path). (8)

فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ ٩ i

87:9

Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer). (9)

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ ١٣ i

87:13

In which they will then neither die nor live. (13)

وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ ١٥ i

87:15

And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. (15)

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا ١٦ i

87:16

Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world; (16)

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ ١٨ i

87:18

And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelation),- (18)
