Surah Ash-Sharh (The Relief) — سُورَةُ الشرح

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ i

94:1

Have We not expanded thee thy breast?- ⁽¹⁾

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ i

94:2

And removed from thee thy burden ⁽²⁾

الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ i

94:3

The which did gall thy back?- ⁽³⁾

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ i

94:4

And raised high the esteem (in which) thou (art held)? ⁽⁴⁾

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا i

94:5

So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief: ⁽⁵⁾

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا i

94:6

Verily, with every difficulty there is relief. ⁽⁶⁾

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ i

94:7

Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard, ⁽⁷⁾

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ i

94:8

And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention. ⁽⁸⁾
