Surah Al-Inshiqaq (The Splitting Open) سُورَة الإنشقاق

Surah Al-Inshiqaq is the 84th chapter of the Quran, consisting of 25 verses. This Surah discusses the Day of Judgment, the splitting of the sky, and the fate of the disbelievers and believers. Below are the verses of this Surah.

Surah Al-Inshiqaq (The Splitting Open) — سُورَةُ الإنشقاق

Also known as: Idhā al-Samāʾu Inshaqqat (When the Sky Splits), Inshaqqat (When It Is Split)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۞

i

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ٢ i

84:2

And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- (2)

وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ ٤ i

84:4

And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, (4)

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ٥ i

84:5

And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). (5)

يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ ٦ i

84:6

O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. (6)

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ ٧ i

84:7

Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, (7)

فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا ٨ i

84:8

Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, (8)

وَيَنْقَلِبُ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا ٩ i

84:9

And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! (9)

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ ١٠ i

84:10

But he who is given his Record behind his back,- (10)

إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا ١٣ i

84:13

Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! (13)

إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَ ١٤ i

84:14

Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! (14)

بَلَىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا ١٥ i

84:15

Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! (15)

فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ٢٠ i

84:20

What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- (20)

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩ ٢١ i

84:21

And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, (21)

بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ ٢٢ i

84:22

But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). (22)

وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ ٢٣ i

84:23

But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) (23)

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ ٢٥ i

84:25

Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. (25)
