Surah Al-Qadr (The Night of Decree) سُورَة القدر

Surah Al-Qadr (The Power) — سُورَةُ القدر

Also known as: Innā Anzalnāhu fī Laylat al-Qadr (Indeed We Sent It Down in the Night of Decree)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۞

i

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ ١ i

97:1

We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power: (1)

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ٢ i

97:2

And what will explain to thee what the night of power is? (2)

لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ ٣ i

97:3

The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. (3)

تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ ٤ i

97:4

Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand: (4)

سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ ٥ i

97:5

Peace!... This until the rise of morn! (5)
